New Years Journalling Exercise
From a healing perspective, I’m referring to meditation and inner work. I would recommend using January to feel into the kind of life you want and then visualise it as clearly as you can.
Your intention is the aspect that gives specific power to your actions, so it’s important to focus your attention and create intentions based on what we want to happen and how we want to feel. Figuring this out is often the most difficult part, making it happen comparatively easier!
Here is a journalling exercise to help.
Some questions I would ask:-
- What is taking up space in your head?
- What is negatively affecting your peace of mind?
- What grudges are you carrying?
- What angers and upsets are you holding on to?
- What are your afraid of changing? (If you are really honest with yourself.)
You will find that these are the things that keep you static and will sabotage any good new year intentions.
As you ponder these questions, you may see what thought process or beliefs needs to change.
I would advise you to be gentle with yourself. This does not mean letting yourself off the hook, it means releasing the outdated beliefs that might be getting in the way of you sticking to changes. Without doing this, your new year resolve will melt quickly. When it’s warmer in Spring you will feel mentally and energetically stronger and ready to embark on any major new regime, with shifts that stick.
It’s always a good idea to get some support in these processes, use the energy of a group or healer to help you. Why not try ours?
