A bit about me

I’m Sushma Sagar, a second-generation British Indian doctor’s daughter. My family hail from Hyderabad, but I was born in London and brought up in The Wirral in the north west of England. I’ve had many different lives before The Calmery, starting out as a woven textile designer, a stint as a DJ, before moving fully into fashion and flying up the ladder of global brands, Ted Baker, Diesel, Ben Sherman, Banana Republic and finally as Marketing Director at Kate Spade.

I’ve always been extremely intuitive and sensitive, something that felt like more of a hindrance to me, until the early noughties when, whilst trying to get through a heartbreak, I was introduced to reiki and energy healing. My extra-sensitivity suddenly came into its own and I realised I had a natural aptitude for healing. Healing became my passion and I spent all my free time outside of fashion, mastering my craft with different teachers and methodologies around the world. As my life went on and I had my own share of personal tragedies, it was energy healing that helped me through the tough times and kept nudging me towards being my true authentic self.

Nearly two decades later, in 2017 I embraced the calling and I decided to leave fashion and set up The Calmery Healing Clinic on London’s renowned Harley St. My vision was to take this incredible, relatively unknown wellness skill to the UK mainstream – an energy healing re-brand if you will! I spent several years promoting it and appeared on TV and most national press for my work, my first book “Essential Chakras Find Your Flow” was published in Dec 2020 Penguin Ebury; I can safely say now, my original mission has been accomplished!

These days, I serve as a healer to those who wish to make deep life transformations, as well as a guide to those who need help navigating life and the spiritual path. My methodology is continually being refined and finessed, the results of which continue to blow me away.  I strive to be a living example of integrity and high energy awareness in action. The work is intense, so I can only have a very limited number of private clients both in-person and online, but those I work with get my all.

In addition to the clinic, I also teach and host talks, corporate workshops and trainings around the world, speaking about everything from energy healing, wellness, changing careers and spirituality.

When I’m not healing and working on my own growth, I love travelling and I write for a lifestyle magazine. My family mean the world to me and I genuinely enjoy spending time with them up in the Wirral. I still adore music and have an extensive vinyl collection from the 90’s. Whilst my dancing shoes do come out sometimes, I’m pretty chilled these days and you’ll find me pottering and cooking fusion food for friends to bossanova and jazz, in my home in Victoria Park London.
